According to Spotify, NewJeans released a song that reached 600 million streams on the 30th of last month. The triple title song 'Super Shy' from their second EP 'Get Up' was streamed 635 million times.
This is their third song to reach 600 million streams. NewJeans previously recorded 700 million and 600 million streams with their first single of the same name, 'OMG', and the track 'Ditto'.
'Super Shy' was released in July of last year. It features a jersey club rhythm, exciting beats, and a bouncy sound. It gained worldwide popularity immediately after its release.
It achieved a career high on various global charts. It ranked 48th on Billboard's main song chart, 'Hot 100'. It ranked 52nd on the UK Official Singles Chart 'Top 100'.
NewJeans' record does not end here. As of the 31st of last month, they surpassed 5 billion cumulative streams on Spotify. This achievement was made in just 2 years and 1 month since their debut.
They have released a total of 13 songs that have been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify so far. In addition to 'OMG', 'Ditto', and 'Super Shy', 'Hype Boy' has over 500 million streams.
'Attention' was also shown to have been streamed over 400 million times. 'New Jeans', 'ETA', and 'Cookie' were each streamed over 200 million times.
In addition, 'Hurt', 'Cool With You', 'ASAP', 'Get Up', and 'How Sweet' have been streamed over 100 million times, showing their long-running momentum.
Meanwhile, NewJeans has been nominated for 'Best Group' and 'Best K-Pop' at the '2024 MTV Video Music Awards' (2024 MTV VMAs).
