(G)I-DLE's agency also wages war against deepfakes

Cube Entertainment, the agency of the group (G)I-DLE, has taken a sword to deepfakes.

On March 3, Cube Entertainment confirmed that “malicious deepfake (AI-based synthetic video) productions targeting our artists are being circulated online,” and warned that “this is a clear criminal act that seriously damages the honor of our artists and causes them mental pain.”

Cube Enters is continuing to monitor and collect data on the matter and will take legal action against the creators and distributors of deepfakes without prejudice.

Meanwhile, TWICE's agency, JYP Entertainment, and NewJeans' agency, Adore, have also announced their response to the illegal damage caused by deepfakes.

Below is the full statement from Cube Entertainment.

Recently, we have confirmed that malicious deepfake (AI-based synthetic video) productions targeting our artists have been circulating online, which we take very seriously as it is a clear criminal act that seriously damages the reputation of our artists and causes them mental distress.

We are continuing to monitor and gather evidence on this matter, and will take strong legal action against the creators of the deepfakes and their associated disseminators.

We will continue to do our best to protect the personalities and rights of our artists, and we will take a strong stance against any illegal behavior that defames our artists.

Thank you.
