'BTS' RM's documentary film has been invited by the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' (RM: Right People, Wrong Place, directed by Lee Seok-joon) has been selected as an official invited film in the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
The BIFF Open Cinema is a section of the festival that showcases new works that have garnered international attention for their artistic merit and popularity.
The films will be screened at the Busan Cinema Center's outdoor theater. This is the first time a K-pop documentary film has been selected as an official selection in the Open Cinema section.
RM released a special poster on BTS' official social media on March 3 to commemorate the invitation to the festival. The poster shows a troubled RM walking down the street as a normal person.
“RM: Right People, Wrong Place” is a documentary film. It follows the making of RM's solo sophomore album, Right People, Wrong Place, which was released in May.
The movie covers the eight-month process of making the sophomore album. It also features candid interviews with RM. It is a record of Kim Namjun's self-exploration, constantly struggling between the artist and the human being.
It has a deep message. The title of the movie means that the moment the line between 'right' and 'wrong' blurs, the journey to find your true self and the right place begins.
The sensual visuals are also noteworthy. Director Lee Seok-joon, who worked on J-Hope's “Arson” and “More” music videos, took the megaphone. The video looks like an art film.
Big Hit Music said, “It is meaningful to present RM's documentary film for the first time at BIFF. We hope that RM's message will reach everyone, and we hope that the audience will take a moment to reflect while watching the movie.”
