'Mickey 17', Bong Joon-ho's New World

“It's going to be an extreme job, because you have to get used to dying.”

Director Bong Joon-ho is heading to an icy planet, and after “Snowpiercer” and “Parasite,” he will once again captivate the world with Bong Joon-ho World.

The first trailer for Mickey 17 was released on the 18th. The movie is written and directed by Bong Joon-ho. Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson plays the main character, Mickey.

'Mickey 17' tells the story of an expendable (Expendable) who is sent to a dangerous job. Mickey (played by Robert Pattinson) is an Expendable, and when he dies, he is reprinted.

But while Mickey 17 is near death, Mickey 18 is printed. Mickey 17 is thought to be dead, and unpredictable events unfold.

It was a very Bong Joon-ho-like trailer. Mankind has set out to colonize an ice planet. Mickey volunteers for the Expendables and dies and lives again for humanity.

Mickey floats through space in peace. Until he cuts his wrist. It was a sign that Mickey's fate would not be kind.

Mickey's tribulations continued. He breathes a mysterious atmosphere and becomes a test subject. But even as he was thrown into the incinerator, he laughed. “It's okay. Thank you,” he says.

During Mickey 17's near-death experience, Mickey 18 was born. The two are 180 degrees apart in personality and begin a bizarre and dangerous coexistence.

In the movie, “multiples” (two or more people existing at the same time) are illegal. One of Mickey 17 and Mickey 18 must die. In response, Mickey 17 and 18 get into a fight that draws attention to themselves.

There are also some familiar faces. Mark Ruffalo plays the role of Kenneth Marshall, the commander of the Ice Colonization Corps. He preaches like a religious leader.

Steven Yeun plays Mickey's friend Timo, who asks Mickey a brutal question before he dies, “What does it feel like to die?”

He also says something you've never heard before. “Have a good death, see you tomorrow” is the line. It foreshadowed the unique and interesting world of Bong Joon-ho.

Not only that, but there are other mysterious creatures on the ice planet. It made us wonder what's in store for Mickey 17, Mickey 18, and the rest of humanity.

Mickey 17 will first hit Korean audiences on January 28 next year. It will then be released globally on January 31st.
