MBC-TV's new Friday-Saturday drama 'When the Phone Rings' (written by Kim Ji-woon, directed by Park Sang-woo and Wi Deuk-gyu) revealed its main cast lineup on the 24th.
'When the Phone Rings' is a secret romance thriller. The story begins when a threatening phone call is made to a Show Window couple in their third year of political marriage.
Yoo Yeon-seok plays Baek Sa-eon, the youngest presidential spokesperson. He is a person who thoroughly manages himself. He and his wife live as a Show Window couple.
Chae Soo-bin plays Hong Hee-joo, Sa-eon's wife and sign language interpreter. She suffers from mutism due to an unexpected accident. After being kidnapped, she tries to change her life.
Heo Nam-joon plays Ji Sang-woo, a psychiatrist. He is also active as a mystery YouTuber. In the process, she gets caught up in an irreversible incident.
Jang Gyu-ri plays announcer Na Yu-ri. She thinks of Sa-eon, who was her wannabe senior during her anchor days, as her role model. She becomes entangled with the couple.
The production is being done by director Park Sang-woo, who created 'Marriage Ban, Joseon Marriage Ban'. Writer Kim Ji-woon wrote 'Melancholia' and 'Doctor John'.
Meanwhile, 'When the Phone Rings' is currently in production, aiming for its first broadcast in November.
