BABYMONSTER is set to release their first full-length album.
On October 8th, YG Entertainment announced on its official blog that BABYMONSTER will release their first full-length album titled 'DRIP' on November 1st. They also posted a video titled "YG Announcement: BABYMONSTER's First Full-Length Album Release."
Yang Hyun-suk, the executive producer, personally explained all the tracks from BABYMONSTER's new album, sharing plans for unprecedented promotional activities and their upcoming global tour starting next year.
Yang expressed his satisfaction with the album, saying, "I really love this album." He also announced that, starting this week, two tracks from the album (excluding the title track) will be pre-released weekly, offering a preview of one verse from each song.
The album consists of nine tracks, with the first track titled 'CLIK CLAK'. Yang described it as "a hip-hop track with a strong sense of originality, unlike anything YG has shown before," noting that all members participated as rappers.
The title track, which shares the album's name, 'DRIP', was a surprise reveal, with Yang disclosing that G-Dragon contributed to its composition. He added that no teasers will be released until the album's launch, stating, "I want to keep it hidden and reveal it with maximum impact."
Other tracks on the album include 'Love, Maybe', 'Really Like You', 'Billionaire', and 'Love in My Heart'. There are also songs that highlight the hip-hop vibe of the Japanese members, such as 'Woke Up in Tokyo' (Luka and Asa), 'Forever', and a remix of 'Better Up'.
At least three music videos will be released alongside the album. Yang mentioned that the music video for 'CLIK CLAK' will be pre-released two to three days before the album's launch.
BABYMONSTER's upcoming world tour was also touched upon, with Yang stating, "It is in the planning stages, and we are committed to delivering a great result." BABYMONSTER, a group produced by Yang Hyun-suk, officially debuted as a seven-member group on April 1st.
Their first mini album, 'BABYMONSTER', sold a total of 401,287 copies in its first week, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales of a debut album by a K-pop girl group. The music video for their title track 'Chic Chic' is nearing 300 million views on YouTube.
