Stray Kids delivered a spectacular performance at the 'American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.'
On October 7th, Stray Kids attended the 'American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special' (AMAs) held in Los Angeles, USA, as performers. They are the second K-pop group, after BTS, to take the stage at the event.
The 'AMAs' is considered one of the top four major music award shows in the United States, alongside the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. This year's event was held to celebrate the 50-year history of the AMAs.
The show highlighted iconic boy bands from various eras, including New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and One Direction. A VCR clip also featured BTS' moments at the AMAs.
Stray Kids were introduced right after. NSYNC's Lance Bass and Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean called the members to the stage, where the group appeared in full formation.
Stray Kids presented a special arrangement stage to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the boy band. They performed the title song 'Chk Chk Boom' from their mini album 'ATE'. They inserted a part of 'Bye Bye Bye', a representative song of NSYNC.
After the show, NSYNC shared a video of Stray Kids' performance on their official SNS, commenting, "It was an honor to see Stray Kids recreate the marionette moment from *Bye Bye Bye* at the AMAs."
Stray Kids stood shoulder to shoulder with global top artists, sharing the stage with big names like Mariah Carey, Green Day, Brad Paisley, Jennifer Hudson, Nelly, and Nile Rodgers, further enhancing the prestige of the event.
Stray Kids have been breaking new records with their latest mini album 'ATE', which became the best-selling K-pop album in the U.S. in 2024, reaffirming their immense popularity in the American market.
The group is currently on their biggest world tour yet, titled '5-STAR DOMINATE.' They will hold a solo concert at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, on the 19th, followed by another in Sydney on the 26th.
