NewJeans' Hanni is set to appear before the National Assembly on October 15.

Hanni will attend the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee’s audit session scheduled for that afternoon. She will be present as a reference witness to address issues related to workplace harassment.

Media coverage will be restricted. On October 14, the National Assembly announced, "To maintain order and protect the safety of witnesses and reference witnesses, media access will be limited."

This measure is to prevent potential safety incidents, given that Hanni’s appearance may attract large crowds of reporters and the general public.

Hanni had previously raised concerns about unfair treatment during a YouTube live broadcast on September 11. She claimed that a manager from HYBE Labels had told her, "Ignore it."

She further explained, "I informed the new representative about the situation. However, I was told there was no evidence and it was too late to address. I felt like I had suddenly become a liar."

The label to which the manager belongs refuted her claims, stating, "The protocol staff always address the artist with respectful language. This claim does not align with objective facts."

In light of these events, the Environment and Labor Committee summoned Hanni as a reference witness for the comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Economic, Social, and Labor Council. Kim Joo-young, the CEO of ADOR, was also called as a witness.

While reference witnesses are not obligated to attend, Hanni plans to participate. On October 9, she stated on the communication platform Phoning, "I want to go for myself, my members, and Bunnies."

As for CEO Kim, if he submits a valid reason for non-attendance, he will not need to appear at the National Assembly. However, if the reason is deemed insufficient, the committee may issue a summons for him to attend.
