SM Entertainment has announced legal measures to protect the group RIIZE and Seunghan, who recently left the group.
On October 17, SM Entertainment (hereafter referred to as SM) stated, "We have been collecting malicious posts and comments, including threats, defamation, and insults against RIIZE members, through fan reports and internal monitoring. We are actively filing lawsuits against individuals spreading false information on specific platforms."
Individuals posing as acquaintances of RIIZE members on Instagram and spreading false information, as well as those confirmed to have engaged in illegal activities, have been identified and referred to the prosecution.
SM emphasized, "Creating or spreading malicious rumors based on fabricated or unverified information, defaming someone’s character, or generating malicious content by editing or manipulating the artist’s images is clearly illegal. We will continue to respond firmly against such acts."
Regarding Seunghan, who recently decided to leave the group due to personal controversies, SM added, "We have been monitoring the spread of false information, personal attacks, insults, and malicious posts and comments about Seunghan since his debut. We have gathered substantial evidence and are proceeding with legal actions against those responsible for illegal activities."
SM also stated that they would pursue immediate legal action for any confirmed illegal acts concerning Seunghan and will adopt a strict approach without settlements or leniency.
Seunghan debuted with RIIZE in September of last year. However, controversies arose after photos from his trainee days circulated, leading to his temporary hiatus. RIIZE continued their activities with six members, gaining significant popularity with tracks like 'Love 119,' 'Siren,' and 'Boom Boom Bass.'
On October 11, Wizard Production announced that after discussions with staff and members, they had decided that the group's "next chapter would be more meaningful with all seven members," confirming Seunghan’s return to the group starting in November.
However, some fans reacted strongly against this decision, sending condolence wreaths to SM Entertainment and organizing truck protests, demanding Seunghan's departure from the group.
Seunghan ultimately reversed his decision just two days after announcing his return, deciding to leave the group.
He stated, "I believe that leaving the team is the best course for everyone. It breaks my heart to see fans arguing because of me. I sincerely hope that the RIIZE I love will continue to be cherished, and I will support them wholeheartedly."
