ILLIT achieves career-high first-week sales with new album.
ILLIT has reached a new milestone with the release of their 2nd mini-album, I'LL LIKE YOU, on October 21. According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold 382,621 copies in its first week, setting a new personal best for the group.
Their previous debut album, SUPER REAL ME, sold approximately 380,000 copies during the same period, showing a slight increase with this latest release.
However, the group fell short of achieving half a million in first-week sales. Despite receiving 550,000 pre-orders by October 17, the actual sales within the tracking period did not meet the projected figure.
I'LL LIKE YOU explores themes of trusting one's emotions and moving boldly towards "you." The album contains five tracks, including the title track CHERISH.
CHERISH reflects the emotions of teenagers, expressing the importance of feelings toward someone you like. The catchy chorus and the harmonious vocals of the members contribute to the song's charm.
The album's performance elements also garnered attention. Their choreography, featuring the Magnetic Heart move, became popular on short-form video platforms. This dance is a playful adaptation of the signature hand movements from their debut song, Magnetic, reworked into a heart gesture, sparking a trend among fans.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will release a remix of CHERISH on October 28.
