SEVENTEEN has once again demonstrated their digital music power, adding another certification to their list of achievements in Japan.
On October 29, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced the latest streaming certifications on its official website, based on data provided by GfK Japan. SEVENTEEN earned platinum certification with their repackaged first album's title track, "Very NICE" (Ajou NICE), surpassing 100 million streams on Japanese music platforms.
The certification system is divided into categories based on cumulative streams: Gold (50 million), Platinum (100 million), Double Platinum (200 million), Triple Platinum (300 million), and Diamond (500 million).
"Very NICE," released in 2016, achieved platinum certification eight years after its debut. The song energetically captures the thrill of spending a day with someone you like.
For CARAT (SEVENTEEN’s fandom), "Very NICE" is a familiar encore song in SEVENTEEN’s concerts. The track was also featured during their performances at Glastonbury in the UK in July and at Lollapalooza Berlin in September.
Including "Very NICE," SEVENTEEN now holds 12 gold and platinum streaming certifications, with other certified tracks including "Mansae," "Pretty U," "Super," "HOT," and "Clap."
SEVENTEEN’s latest mini album, "SPILL THE FEELS," continues to make waves, boasting the highest first-week sales of any overseas artist release this year.
The group has also topped multiple charts, including Oricon's weekly album and combined album rankings. Additionally, the album ranks high on Billboard Japan’s "Hot Albums" and "Top Album Sales" charts.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is currently touring major cities in North America as part of their "RIGHT HERE" world tour. They will perform in Texas on October 31 and November 1.
