Rosé, a member of the group BLACKPINK, has made an impressive debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with her duet track "APT." featuring American pop star Bruno Mars.
The song entered the chart at No. 8, marking the highest-ever ranking for a female K-pop artist. This achievement is being celebrated as a significant step forward in expanding the global reach of K-content.
On October 29, Billboard announced through its official social media that "APT." secured a spot in the top 10, alongside Billie Eilish’s "Birds Of A Feather" at No. 3 and Sabrina Carpenter’s "Espresso" at No. 5.
The Hot 100 chart ranks songs based on multiple factors, including physical and digital sales, streaming numbers, radio airplay, and YouTube views, serving as a key indicator of a song’s popularity in the U.S.
The previous highest ranking for a female K-pop artist on the Hot 100 was BLACKPINK’s collaboration with Selena Gomez, "Ice Cream," which reached No. 13 in 2020. With the success of "APT.," Rosé has now broken that record, setting a new personal and group milestone.
Rosé becomes the fifth K-pop artist to enter the top 10 on the Hot 100, following BTS, Jimin, Jungkook (all with No. 1 entries), and PSY (No. 2). This achievement further cements the global influence of K-pop, which has been enjoying immense popularity worldwide in recent years.
Additionally, "APT." claimed the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Global 200 charts. The song also made a strong debut on the UK Official Singles Chart’s Top 100, entering at No. 4, further demonstrating its success across global markets.
