Rosé's pre-release single "APT." hits 200 million views on YouTube.
On October 30, The Black Label announced, "Rosé and Bruno Mars' duet 'APT.' has surpassed 200 million views on YouTube." The milestone was reached in just 11 days and 22 hours, setting a new record as the fastest K-pop female solo artist to achieve this feat.
"APT." was released ahead of Rosé's official comeback, scheduled for December 6, 2024, and received an explosive response. The music video reached 100 million views within five days of its release.
The song has seen widespread success in the global music market. It topped trending video and music charts in Korea and ranked #1 on the U.S. YouTube trending chart.
Upon release, "APT." landed at #1 on Spotify's U.S. chart and topped iTunes charts in 40 regions, including China's QQ Music.
Rosé continues to break records with "APT." She became the first K-pop female solo artist to top both Spotify's U.S. and Global Top Songs charts. The song also reached 100 million Spotify streams in just seven days, the fastest for any K-pop female soloist.
On both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100 charts, "APT." debuted at #4, the highest rank ever for a K-pop female solo artist.
The song entered Billboard's Hot 100 at #8 (as of October 29), setting another first and best record for a K-pop female solo artist.
"APT." also topped both the Billboard Global 200 (including and excluding the U.S.) charts. On the Global 200 (with U.S.) chart, it achieved the second-highest streaming numbers in Billboard history.
The inspiration for "APT." came from a popular Korean drinking game known as the "Apartment Game." Rosé explained, "It's a game I really enjoy—it's simple, fun, and great for lifting the mood."
She added, "One night in the studio, I taught the staff how to play the game. Watching everyone enjoy it inspired the song's creation, and Bruno Mars later joined to complete it."
Rosé's upcoming album, "Rosie," will feature a total of 12 tracks, including the title song and "APT." She participated in writing and composing every song, offering an intimate and honest glimpse into her story.
