Netflix’s Squid Game Season 2 (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk) is finally back. On November 1, a teaser poster, preview trailer, and promotional stills were released worldwide.

The teaser poster highlights the tension between Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) and the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). Once again, Gi-hun has entered the game as contestant 456, his determined expression showing he’s ready for revenge, leading the 456 contestants at the forefront.

The Front Man’s striking image also draws attention. Turning away from the iconic pink guards, he reveals his face behind the mask, sparking curiosity about his backstory.

The teaser trailer shows contestants taking photos to the sound of a chilling “Smile” machine voice, hinting at new rules. After each game, there will now be a vote, raising the stakes. The familiar “Red Light, Green Light” game from Season 1 returns, but it’s short-lived as the first casualty sends everyone into panic.

Amid divided opinions on whether the game should continue, Gi-hun steps forward, declaring, “I’ve played this game before.” Meanwhile, the Front Man observes, intensifying the mystery.

Squid Game Season 2 follows the global phenomenon that was Squid Game, as Gi-hun reenters the deadly competition to confront the Front Man. Returning from Season 1 are Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo. New cast members include Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Cho Yu-ri, and Lee Jin-wook.

Squid Game Season 2 will premiere on December 26.
