"TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) Sets New Records in Japan's Music Market"
On November 7, Big Hit Music reported that TXT's seventh mini album, The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY, reached the top spot on Japan's Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' for two consecutive days on November 4 and 5.
In just two days, the album sold an impressive 277,587 copies in Japan alone, surpassing the first-week sales of their previous mini album, minisode 3: TOMORROW, which sold around 174,000 copies according to Oricon. Compared to its predecessor's two-day sales of 148,588 copies, SANCTUARY marked a 60% increase, showcasing TXT's growing influence in the Japanese music market.
TXT currently holds the Oricon record for the most consecutive number one albums by a foreign artist. With ten previous albums topping the weekly chart, this new release is experiencing the group's fastest sales growth yet.
Their title track, "Over the Moon," is also climbing Japanese music charts. Just an hour after its release on November 4, it entered LINE MUSIC's real-time chart at 78th place, rising to number one by 8 p.m. on November 6. On Spotify Japan's Daily Top Songs chart (as of November 5), the track jumped an impressive 79 positions to reach 74th place. The album also ranked number one on Japan's Apple Music Top Albums and iTunes Top Albums charts, indicating widespread appeal for all its tracks.
In celebration of the new release, TXT is hosting a pop-up store at Iconic Square on the B2 level of The Hyundai Seoul until November 13. The pop-up, named TOMORROW X TOGETHER 'The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY', offers fans an immersive experience of their latest album.
