Actors Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun-jin delve into a complex relationship.
Netflix’s new series *Trunk* (written by Park Eun-young and directed by Kim Kyu-tae) is set to premiere on November 29. On November 12, the main poster and trailer were unveiled.
*Trunk* is a mystery melodrama centered on a mysterious marriage service, with secrets that begin to unravel after a trunk surfaces by a lakeside. It explores the unusual marriage between two individuals and the secrets surrounding it.
Themes of love, compassion, redemption, obsession, desire, loneliness, and emptiness are woven into the complex relationships and emotions of various characters entangled in temporary marriages.
The poster captures the subtle, tense connection of the couple. It presents the close yet distant relationship between Noh In-ji (played by Seo Hyun-jin) and Han Jeong-won (played by Gong Yoo) at a glance.
In the trailer, a mysterious murder unfolds around a trunk that surfaces by a lakeside. Han Jeong-won ends up marrying Noh In-ji, an employee of a temporary marriage matching company.
Han Jeong-won cynically remarks, "It’s just a fake marriage. Does it really matter?" to which Noh In-ji replies, "I guess some people would rather hold on to that fake than let others see their loneliness," hinting at hidden emotions.
Han Jeong-won reveals his conflicted feelings, saying, "That woman bothers me." Yet, as real and fake emotions, resentment and desire, intertwine, the mysterious marriage descends into chaos.
In a heartfelt moment, Han Jeong-won says, "I need you. Maybe this could be fate." What secrets does the ownerless trunk, discovered in place of a body, hold?
Directed by Kim Kyu-tae, known for Our Blues and It’s Okay, That’s Love, and written by Park Eun-young, who penned Hwarang, Trunk promises an unconventional and immersive mystery melodrama.
Trunk will premiere on Netflix on November 29.
