TWS is making a comeback with a refreshing winter song.
On the evening of the 18th, TWS unveiled the tracklist for their debut single, ‘Last Bell.’ The title track is named ‘The Last Festival,’ with B-side tracks titled ‘Your Name (Highlight)’ and ‘Drawing a Comma Instead of a Period (Comma,).’
The songwriting credits for ‘The Last Festival’ drew particular attention. Iconic musician Seo Taiji was listed as a contributor, with the song taking inspiration from the 1993 hit of the same name by Seo Taiji and Boys.
Pledis Entertainment explained, “The track adopts the narrative framework of Seo Taiji’s original, revolving around preparing a final festival for one special person before parting ways. It captures the universally relatable emotions of youth, transcending generations.”
However, the sound of the track diverges entirely from the original. TWS brings their unique color and emotional depth to reinterpret the song, turning it into a bright and refreshing winter anthem.
The agency added, “The members contributed significantly to enhancing the musical completeness of both the title track and the B-sides. ‘Last Bell’ intricately conveys the evolving story of youthful growth.”
The overarching theme of the album focuses on youth approaching graduation. It explores the spectrum of emotions that arise when saying goodbye to long-standing friends—moments of unexpected excitement, the bittersweet sadness of parting, and hope for a new future.
As part of their promotional activities, TWS will release a highlight medley of ‘Last Bell’ on the 20th at 10 p.m. On the 21st, the group will attend the Mnet ‘MAMA Music Awards’ at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
TWS is set to officially release ‘Last Bell’ on the 25th at 6 p.m.
