ILLIT to Perform at Japan's Year-End Music Festival
ILLIT attended the press conference for the 75th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Tokyo on November 19. They were invited as first-time performers for the prestigious event.
Expressing their excitement, the group shared, "It's an honor to perform on such a significant stage in our debut year. We'll give you an amazing performance."
Kōhaku Uta Gassen, an annual special music program aired on NHK every December 31, features artists who have made a significant impact throughout the year.
ILLIT's invitation comes just eight months after their debut, even before their official debut in Japan, showcasing their remarkable popularity in the region.
The group's strong presence is evident. Their debut mini album's title track, Magnetic, surpassed 100 million streams on Oricon, achieving the shortest time for a female group.
Buoyed by the success of Magnetic, ILLIT topped various charts, including claiming No. 1 in the "Tower Records Music Streaming Rookie Artist" category for the first half of the year.
Currently, ILLIT is promoting their second mini-album, I'LL LIKE YOU, with the follow-up track Tick-Tack.
