SEVENTEEN Releases 4th Japanese Single 'Shohikigen' After Over a Year
On November 27, SEVENTEEN released their 4th Japanese single, Shohikigen (消費期限), across various music platforms, marking their local comeback after approximately 13 months.
The new single comprises three tracks: the title track of the same name, "Circles," and the Japanese version of "MAESTRO."
The title track Shohikigen is a ballad featuring striking string and guitar sounds. Its lyrics explore the concept of an "expiration date" for emotions, reflecting a contemplative mindset.
Even before its official release, the song garnered attention as it was featured as the theme for NHK's program Mirai no Watashi ni Bukkamasareru!? (未来の私にぶっかまされる!?).
The music video builds on the narrative of SEVENTEEN's previously released Japanese best album's title track. It continues the storyline, depicting life 1,000 days after the apocalypse, following the prequel's depiction of the day before the world's end. The video shows the members reminiscing about their past memories.
SEVENTEEN's activities in Japan continue with their upcoming "4-Dome Tour." The group will kick off the WORLD TOUR [IN JAPAN] on November 29-30 at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya.
