ILLIT Achieves Back-to-Back 'Half-Million Seller' Status

ILLIT Achieves Consecutive Half-Million Seller Status with Two Albums

Rookie K-pop group ILLIT (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha) has reached the milestone of becoming a half-million seller with two consecutive albums.

According to Belift Lab on November 27, ILLIT's second mini-album I'LL LIKE YOU sold a total of 582,333 copies (including standard and Weverse editions) as of the October Circle Chart. It took only 10 days to surpass 500,000 sales—a significant improvement from their debut album SUPER REAL ME, which achieved the same feat in about a month.

The combined sales of ILLIT's two albums released this year have surpassed 1.26 million copies. Their growing global popularity, bolstered by the short-form content trend, continues to attract new fans. Their debut album SUPER REAL MEalone has sold over 680,000 copies, with November sales yet to be included, suggesting these figures will climb even higher.

ILLIT is the only 2023 debut K-pop artist to have two albums enter the Billboard 200.

Their music has also performed well on global charts. The title tracks of their mini-albums, Magnetic from SUPER REAL ME and Cherish (My Love) from I'LL LIKE YOU, ranked No. 133 and No. 160, respectively, on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart (dated November 30). Notably, Magnetic has remained on the chart for 35 consecutive weeks, showcasing its enduring appeal.

Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart reflects global popularity by ranking streaming and digital sales data from over 200 countries, excluding the U.S. Unlike the Hot 100, which incorporates U.S. radio airplay, this chart is a key indicator of international trends in popular music.

Since debuting in March, ILLIT has consistently made appearances on Billboard's major charts, demonstrating impressive momentum. Magnetic set a record as the first K-pop debut song to enter the Billboard Hot 100 (April 20 issue) and stayed on the Global 200 for 33 consecutive weeks.

ILLIT's growing popularity has earned them a nomination for Top Global K-pop Song at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards with Magnetic. Just eight months after debuting, ILLIT is proving their superstar potential by making their mark on one of America's four major music awards shows.
