SEVENTEEN has proven their immense popularity in Japan, achieving a double crown on the Oricon charts.
According to Oricon's latest data (dated December 9), SEVENTEEN's fourth Japanese single, Shohikigen (消費期限), ranked No. 1 on the "Weekly Combined Singles Ranking."
The "Weekly Combined Singles Ranking" aggregates CD sales, digital downloads, and streaming counts. SEVENTEEN secured 427,343 points, showcasing their strong performance.
They recorded an overwhelming achievement in CD sales, with 418,202 copies sold, according to Oricon's data. This marks their fourth work to reach No. 1 on this chart.
This feat also sets a remarkable record for an international artist. The 427,343 points amassed by Shohikigen is the highest weekly score for any single by an overseas artist this year.
The achievements don't stop there. Shohikigen also claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard Japan's "Top Single Sales" chart (dated December 4), while its title track debuted at No. 2 on the "Hot 100" chart.
SEVENTEEN is currently on their RIGHT HERE tour, connecting with fans across Japan. Following their Tokyo Dome performance on the 5th, the group will head to Kyocera Dome in Osaka and PayPay Dome in Fukuoka.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN will perform at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 13 (KST) in Los Angeles, where they are also nominated for multiple awards.
