The "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won effect" continues as their drama garners awards at prestigious Asian ceremonies.
The "2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards" (AACA) took place on December 4 in Singapore, where tvN's Queen of Tears won the Best Direction award.
AACA, Asia's largest content awards, is held annually in December as part of the Singapore Media Festival. It evaluates works from 17 countries to bestow honors.
Queen of Tears was nominated in two categories at the "2024 AACA," including Best Screenplay, which further increased its chances of recognition alongside the Best Direction category.
The drama has swept two major Asian award ceremonies. On November 30, it received the Best Screenplay award at the 29th Asian Television Awards (ATA) held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Studio Dragon commented, "This was a meaningful occasion that reaffirms the competitiveness of K-dramas. We aim to continue presenting well-made productions in the future."
Meanwhile, Queen of Tears is a romantic drama about a chaebol heir and a village head's son finding love again. Its finale achieved a 24.9% viewership rating, making it the highest-rated tvN drama in history.
