Day6's Dowoon becomes a target of malicious comments amidst the martial law and impeachment turmoil. JYP Entertainment has announced strong measures to address the issue.
On December 5, Dowoon posted a video on his Instagram showing himself practicing the drums. In the video, he was seen wearing military fatigues, reportedly due to overlapping schedules between reservist training and practice. There was no political intent behind his attire.
However, some netizens sparked controversy, questioning if Dowoon was supporting martial law. The post was flooded with hateful comments, and unfounded rumors speculating about his political stance began circulating online.
JYP Entertainment responded firmly on December 9, stating, "False information regarding Dowoon is being recklessly spread and reproduced. We will respond strongly to the creation and dissemination of baseless rumors and malicious slander."
The company added, "If the spread of falsehoods and rumors continues, we will take strict legal action to protect our artist's honor and integrity."
Meanwhile, Day6 is set to hold a solo concert, The Present, at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on December 20–21. This milestone makes Day6 the first domestic band to perform at the Gocheok Dome.
