KBS has announced the cancellation of the red carpet event for the upcoming 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards.

On December 13, KBS stated, "The red carpet event for the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards, scheduled for December 21, will not be held this year."

The decision appears to consider the current political climate surrounding President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment proceedings, as well as ongoing protests in Seoul over the weekends.

The awards ceremony will take place at the KBS New Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, where congestion caused by demonstrations contributed to the decision.

The 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards will air on December 21 at 9:20 p.m., with hosts Lee Joon, Lee Young-ji, and Lee Chan-won leading the event.
