BLACKPINK's Rosé Sets New Record with Solo Album
Rosé, member of BLACKPINK, has achieved another milestone. According to Billboard's latest chart (dated December 21), her solo debut album 'Rosie' entered the Billboard 200 at an impressive No. 3, setting a new record for a K-pop female soloist.
The previous record-holder was TWICE's Nayeon, who peaked at No. 7 twice with 'IM NAYEON' (July 2022) and 'NA' (June 2024). Rosé surpassed this by four ranks, showcasing her growing popularity in the U.S. Following the success of her pre-release track 'APT.', her full-length album 'Rosie' also performed strongly.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks albums based on physical sales, digital downloads (TEA), and streaming (SEA). 'Rosie'recorded 102,000 album units in its debut week, including 70,000 physical sales, 31,000 SEA units, and 1,000 TEA units.
Rosé also made waves in the UK, debuting at No. 4 on the Official Albums Chart. Her title track, 'Toxic Till the End,'entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 72.

In October, Rosé pre-released her track 'APT.', featuring pop star Bruno Mars, which received widespread acclaim. The song reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the highest position ever for a K-pop female artist. It also topped the Global 200 and Global 200 (Excl. US) charts, surpassing BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's previous record of No. 13.
Upon release, 'APT.' dominated 40 regional iTunes Top Songs charts and achieved a Perfect All-Kill on domestic Korean charts, solidifying its massive popularity.
Rosé became the first Korean female solo artist to reach No. 1 on both the US Spotify and Global Spotify Top Songs charts, with the track amassing over 100 million streams in just seven days.
In the UK, 'APT.' debuted at No. 4 on the Official Singles Chart, later climbing to No. 2 and maintaining a strong run with five consecutive weeks at No. 3. The track remained on the chart for eight consecutive weeks, further demonstrating its global appeal and fans' unwavering support.
