Film Harbin Premieres with Dominant Pre-Sale Rate
Harbin (directed by Woo Min-ho) hit theaters on December 24 with a commanding pre-sale rate. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing network, as of 9:12 AM, the film led with a 56.2% pre-sale share, amounting to 554,590 tickets sold.
The film outpaced competitors such as Firefighter (8.2%), Mufasa: The Lion King (6.9%), and Moana 2 (5.9%), reigniting the year-end box office momentum.
Since its press and audience previews, Harbin has seen a surge in pre-sales, with daily ticket sales increasing by 50,000 to 100,000, demonstrating immense interest.
Set in 1909, the film portrays the tense pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin with a single mission and those chasing them. Actor Hyun Bin stars as An Jung-geun, the central figure.
Directed by Woo Min-ho, known for Inside Men and The Man Standing Next, the film also benefits from the production team behind 12.12 The Day. With a production budget of 30 billion KRW, the break-even point is approximately 6.5 million viewers.
