g.o.d's Park Joon-hyung Reveals the Extravagant Gift from IU

On the December 25 episode of MBC's Radio Star, Park Joon-hyung, singer Cho Hyun-ah, chef Jung Ji-sun, and public servant YouTuber Chungju-man appeared on the "Love and Remember" special.

During the show, Park shared, "IU was truly a fangod (fan of g.o.d). Among fangod members, many have succeeded, and she's one of the biggest success stories. When she came to our concerts, she didn't use complimentary tickets but bought her own and watched secretly."

Park then revealed the generous gift he received from IU. "We were once guests at IU's concert. To show her gratitude, she gave us luxury sunglasses and wild ginseng. Yoon Kye-sang told me, 'Hyung, this ginseng is worth about 10 million won each,'" Park said, astonishing the audience. Since IU gifted each member, the total value of the ginseng alone was estimated at 50 million won.

Park added humorously, "No joke, the ginseng came in a box with dirt still on it. Not knowing how to prepare it, I just dusted off the dirt and ate it, but I ended up with kidney stones and had pain while urinating," sparking laughter from the audience.

EDAM Entertainment, IU's agency, recorded 46.2 billion KRW in revenue and 4.3 billion KRW in operating profit last year. Among this, royalties—including payments to IU—amounted to 24.5 billion KRW.

IU has consistently set a positive example through regular donations on special occasions such as her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end holidays. In September, to celebrate her 16th debut anniversary, she donated 225 million KRW under the name "UAENA." More recently, IU marked the end of 2024 by donating 500 million KRW, spreading warmth and generosity.
