Script Reading for Park Sung-hoon's New Drama The Tyrant's Chef Canceled Due to National Mourning Period
On January 2, BH Entertainment, the agency representing actor Park Sung-hoon, announced that the scheduled script reading for the tvN drama The Tyrant's Chef was canceled in observance of the national mourning period.
The mourning period was declared following a tragic accident on December 29, when Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok collided with an airport wall while attempting to land at Muan International Airport, resulting in an explosion. Of the 181 passengers, 179 lost their lives, excluding two crew members.
The government designated the period until January 4 as a national mourning period. In light of this, various entertainment programs, including year-end award shows and dramas, have been postponed or canceled.
The script reading for The Tyrant's Chef, originally scheduled for January 2, was similarly canceled out of respect for the mourning period.
The Tyrant's Chef, starring Park Sung-hoon and Im Yoon-ah, is a fantasy romance drama about a French chef who time-slips 500 years into the past to meet a tyrannical king known for his gourmet palate. The story combines survival, culinary adventures, and romance across eras.
