JYP Entertainment's new boy group KickFlip is set to make their official debut.
On the 6th, JYP unveiled the group's profile images and album scheduler. KickFlip will release their first mini-album, Flip it, Kick it!, on January 20 at 6 PM KST.
The group consists of seven members: Gyehun, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minjae, K-Joo, and Donghyun. On the same day, the full version of the music video for their pre-release track "Yeah, Whatever" was released, with more teaser content to follow.
Their debut day will feature a packed schedule, including an Mnet M2 debut show at 7 PM and a debut showcase at 9 PM. Additionally, a debut pop-up event will be held from January 25 to February 2 at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.
The "Yeah, Whatever" music video opens with Gyehun humorously falling off a skateboard. The members then dance and play freely, radiating cheerful energy throughout the video.
The track's lyrics humorously respond to annoying nagging, delivering a message of confidently walking one's own path without being bothered by typical criticisms.
KickFlip first gained attention last November when their group name and silhouette photos of all seven members were revealed at the 2024 MAMA Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The announcement caught the attention of K-pop fans worldwide.
The group's name, KickFlip, is inspired by a high-level skateboarding trick in which the board spins 360 degrees with a flick of the foot. It symbolizes their ambition to break free from conventions and make a fresh impact on the music scene as they take their first steps into the industry.
