Netflix's 'Squid Game 2' Misses Out on Best TV Drama Award at the Golden Globes
The highly anticipated second season of "Squid Game" (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk) failed to secure the Best TV Drama award at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. The ceremony took place on January 6 in Los Angeles, California.
The second season of "Squid Game" was nominated in the Best TV Drama category but ultimately did not win.
Back in 2022, at the 79th Golden Globe Awards, "Squid Game" also missed out on the Best TV Drama award, though actor Oh Young-soo made history by winning Best Supporting Actor. This year again, the show fell short of taking the top prize.
The Best TV Drama award went to "Shōgun," an FX series set in 17th-century Japan. In addition to winning Best TV Drama, "Shōgun" swept multiple awards in the TV category, including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor.
"Squid Game 2" continues the intense story of Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the deadly game, driven by a desire for revenge, and his confrontation with the enigmatic Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun).
Meanwhile, "Squid Game" Season 3 is scheduled for release in the second half of this year.
