BLACKPINK's 'Shut Down' Choreography Video Surpasses 200 Million Views on YouTube

According to YG Entertainment on January 6, BLACKPINK's "Shut Down" performance video surpassed 200 million views on YouTube at around 5:06 PM the previous day. This milestone comes approximately two years and four months after its release on September 19, 2022.

BLACKPINK is known for the massive popularity of not only their music videos but also their choreography videos. Out of the group's 47 YouTube videos that have exceeded 100 million views, 13 are dance performance videos, highlighting the global fanbase's fascination with their powerful stage presence.

Notably, the "Shut Down" choreography video hit 10 million views within half a day of its release, becoming the most-watched video on YouTube in a 24-hour period at that time. The song's official music video has also garnered nearly 700 million views, showing its continued popularity.

"Shut Down" is a hip-hop track that samples Paganini's "La Campanella," blending sharp violin melodies with heavy beats. The combination of BLACKPINK's solid vocals and dynamic rapping earned widespread praise. The song made history by becoming the first K-pop track to top Spotify's weekly global chart.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK continues to reign as "YouTube Queens," breaking records with their official channel, which boasts more than 95.5 million subscribers — the highest among artists worldwide. Their total channel views have surpassed 37.5 billion, cementing their unrivaled global influence.
