"It's absolutely not because I didn't want to do it..." (Taeyeon)

Girls' Generation's Taeyeon has spoken out about her absence from SM Entertainment's 30th anniversary concert, pointing to the company's lack of effort as the reason.

On January 6, Taeyeon posted a lengthy message on the Bubble fan communication platform, providing clarification regarding 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025.'

She explained why she would not be performing at the event, stating, "I wanted to perform on stage in a cool way. I told the company I wanted to perform two to three songs and waited."

However, she added, "To put it simply, the company didn't make the preparations. It's absolutely not because I lacked motivation or didn't want to participate."

Taeyeon further expressed her frustration, saying, "I'm always sincere about my performances, and I want to give it my all with love and dedication. I'm seriously considering my next steps because I haven't been supported."

When a fan messaged her saying, "Maybe the company had its own circumstances. It must have been difficult for them," Taeyeon replied, "They said they forgot to pass along the request, so I guess it must have been difficult."

Taeyeon isn't the only one missing from the concert. Red Velvet's Wendy will also not be participating. SM Entertainment announced the news via Melon Ticket, stating, "Wendy will not be appearing due to personal reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lineup change."

The 'SMTOWN LIVE' concert will be held on January 11-12 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Performers include NCT 127, NCT Dream, aespa, and RIIZE.
