JYP Entertainment's new boy group Kickflip has shared their thoughts and ambitions ahead of their debut. On January 8, the group released individual introduction videos via their official SNS, candidly presenting their authentic selves to fans.

First up was leader Gyehoon, who joined JYP as the winner of the 2016 public audition. He has spent nearly a decade as a trainee. "The process wasn't all that hard. It's because of those times that I've grown stronger today," he said, reflecting on his journey.

Amaru showed potential as a lyricist. "I enjoy writing lyrics the most," he shared. "Expressing my thoughts in words has never been a barrier for me."

Donghwa expressed his love for showcasing his identity through music, dance, singing, and fashion. "I've recently become interested in vintage items. They carry traces of time and have unique qualities that aren't common. I think our team has a bit of a vintage vibe too," he introduced.

Juwang appeared wearing a headset. "Walking while listening to ballads calms my mind. I want to become an artist who can offer that kind of comfort to someone else," he said sincerely.

Minjae shared his pure passion for music. "I've always liked music itself. The thought of finally standing on a stage I've only imagined makes me excited and nervous at the same time," he said, describing his pre-debut emotions.

The youngest members radiated confidence. K-ju playfully remarked, "I look totally different when I'm dancing compared to my usual self. But don't I look cool even when I'm just being myself?"

Maknae Donghyun proudly stated, "Practicing like crazy — that's my weapon. I think Kick in Kickflip might just be me," exuding justified self-assurance.

Kickflip will officially debut on January 20 with their first mini album Flip it, Kick it!. On January 6, they pre-released the music video for one of the tracks, Yeah, Sure.

As of January 7, the music video ranked No. 9 on YouTube's Worldwide Trending Music Videos and No. 3 on YouTube's domestic trending videos. Riding on this momentum, the group will be releasing teaser content sequentially.

The name Kickflip refers to a difficult skateboarding trick where the board spins 360 degrees on its axis. Just like flipping the board forward, the group aims to move beyond the conventional and make a fresh impact in the industry.
