BTS members V and Jungkook have partially won their lawsuit against 'Taldeoksooyongso' ( 탈덕수용소), a YouTube channel known for spreading defamatory rumors.

On February 14, the Seoul Western District Court ruled in favor of BigHit Music, V, and Jungkook, ordering 'Taldeoksooyongso' to pay 76 million KRW (approximately $60,000 USD) in damages:

• 51 million KRW to BigHit Music
• 10 million KRW to V
• 15 million KRW to Jungkook

The court also ruled that 'Taldeoksooyongso' must cover all litigation costs and additional interest until full payment is made.

The lawsuit, filed in March 2024, sought 90 million KRW in damages, citing reputational harm caused by malicious rumors spread through the channel. Before its shutdown in June 2023, 'Taldeoksooyongso' spread defamatory content targeting various celebrities, including IVE's Jang Wonyoung and Kang Daniel.

Multiple artists and agencies have since taken legal action against the channel for violations of the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation).

Jang Wonyoung also partially won her lawsuit in January, receiving 50 million KRW in compensation, reduced from the initial ruling.
