Kai is officially making his highly anticipated return as a solo artist after two years.

New Mini Album Coming in April

On March 5, SM Entertainment confirmed to Dispatch, "Kai is preparing a new mini album with a target release in April. He will be filming the music video for his new song next week. Please look forward to it."

This marks his first solo release since March 2023, when he dropped his third mini album, Rover. The title track's sleek choreography and captivating performance left a lasting impression, even sparking the viral 'Rover Challenge' on social media.

Fresh Start After Military Service

In May 2023, Kai enlisted in the Republic of Korea Army Training Center, completing five weeks of basic training before serving as a social service worker for 21 months. He was officially discharged on February 10, 2025.

Venturing into YouTube Variety Shows

Before his album release, Kai is also taking on a new role as the MC for Season 6 of the YouTube variety show Ex-Convict. He will be following in the footsteps of Changsub, with the new season premiering on March 20.
