KBS has ruled one of LE SSERAFIM's new tracks ineligible for broadcast due to inappropriate lyrical content.
KBS Releases Song Review Results
On March 5, KBS published the results of its music review, revealing that Ash, a B-side track from LE SSERAFIM's 5th mini-album HOT, had been deemed unfit for broadcast.
According to KBS, the lyrics were flagged for allegedly glorifying self-harm and including disturbing content that could evoke discomfort.
Possible Re-Evaluation After Lyric Modification
Despite the initial ruling, the track can be re-evaluated if the problematic lyrics are revised or removed. If approved upon review, it will then be eligible for KBS program broadcasts.
Meanwhile, four out of five songs on the album passed the review:
✔ HOT (Title Track)
✔ Born Fire
✔ Come Over
✔ So Cynical
Ashi was co-written and composed by Huh Yunjin, who also contributed to HOT and So Cynical. Additionally, Hong Eunchae and Kim Chaewon took part in writing So Cynical.
Title Track 'HOT'—A Fiery Rock-Disco Anthem
The title track, HOT, is a pop song infused with rock and disco elements, delivering a powerful message about burning everything for what you love, regardless of the uncertain outcome.
Release Date
LE SSERAFIM's 5th mini-album HOT drops on March 14 at 1 PM KST across major streaming platforms.
