Kim Dae-myung is back on the small screen!
The actor stars in JTBC's new weekend drama, 'The Art of Negotiation', which premiered on March 8. Kim takes on the role of Oh Soon-young, a negotiation specialist and corporate lawyer.
⚖ A Drama About High-Stakes Corporate Deals
The Art of Negotiation revolves around the world of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), following a legendary corporate negotiator and his elite team as they take on high-risk deals.
Kim Dae-myung's warm and humanistic portrayal of Soon-young immediately stood out. Unlike typical cutthroat lawyers, he approaches conflicts with kindness and sincerity, even telling a client during their first meeting:
"Fighting isn't really my thing."
His performance adds depth and charm, delivering nuanced, lighthearted moments while setting up an intriguing dynamic with Lee Je-hoon's character, Yoon Joon-oh.
🎭 A Transformative Role After His Last Film
Kim's portrayal of Oh Soon-young is a stark contrast to his previous role in the film 'Don't Buy the Dirty Money', where he played Detective Lee Dong-hyuk, a man caught in a high-stakes game of crime and betrayal.
To prepare for the intense film role, Kim lost 15kg, embodying the desperation of a character pushed to his limits.
📺 From Dramas to Variety Shows
Beyond acting, Kim Dae-myung is expanding his presence in entertainment. He recently showcased his travel adventures on 'Channel Fifteenya' and demonstrated his hosting skills on SBS's 'Whenever Possible'.
His agency shared their excitement for his new project:
"Kim Dae-myung is ready to connect with audiences through 'The Art of Negotiation.' We look forward to seeing how he challenges himself with this role."
