Big news for NewJeans fans—ADOR has officially won the court battle confirming its management rights over the group, blocking any independent activities under the name NJZ.

⚠️ Court Sides with ADOR—NewJeans Must Have ADOR's Approval for All Activities

On March 21, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR's request for an injunction to "preserve its status as NewJeans' agency and prohibit independent contracts".

The court stated, "ADOR is temporarily confirmed as NewJeans' management agency under the exclusive contract signed on April 21, 2022, until the first trial verdict for the contract validity case is reached."

This means all five NewJeans members cannot engage in any entertainment activities—directly or through a third party—without prior approval from ADOR. The members are also ordered to cover all legal costs.

📝 What Sparked the Legal Battle?

ADOR filed the injunction in January 2025 to stop NewJeans from signing independent endorsement deals and launching activities as "NJZ." By February, the request expanded to include a ban on all music and related activities.

NewJeans members appeared in court on March 7, telling the press, "Our team includes our CEO (Min Hee-jin), and we will continue working with her."

ADOR fired back, saying, "There's only one reason for this legal action—we want to stay with NewJeans. Please give us the opportunity to protect the team we've built together."

📅 What's Next for NewJeans?

Back in November 2024, NewJeans announced the termination of their contract with ADOR and rebranded themselves as "NJZ" to pursue independent promotions.

However, ADOR filed a separate lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract in December. The first court hearing for that case is scheduled for April 3.

For now, NewJeans' solo activities as NJZ are legally blocked until the final court decision.
