Get ready for a witty black comedy set on a golf course — 'Lobby' is here to serve sharp lines, hilarious moments, and a touch of heart.
On March 25, the cast gathered for a press conference at CGV Yongsan, showcasing what makes Ha Jung-woo's third directorial film so unique. Sadly, Ha Jung-woo missed the event after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis — but his creative presence was felt throughout.
🎬 A Star-Director Combo — Ha Jung-woo Leads On and Off Screen
'Lobby' follows a chaotic golf lobby war over a $4 billion national project. Ha Jung-woo plays Yoon Chang-wook, a startup CEO who finds himself navigating the world of lobbying for the first time.
The cast, including Kim Eui-sung, Park Byung-eun, Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Si-won, Cha Joo-young, and Kang Mal-geum, couldn't stop praising Ha Jung-woo as both actor and director.
"He caught every little detail about the actors," said Park Byung-eun. "His sharp focus on performance made us feel safe."
Lee Dong-hwi added, "He really let us pitch ideas. It felt like brainstorming with a reliable older cousin."
💬 Every Character Shines — No One Wasted
From witty banter to awkward moments, 'Lobby' nails the "every character matters" energy. Even the smallest roles ooze personality.
Kang Mal-geum revealed, "We did over 10 full readings — Ha Jung-woo constantly gave us new ideas." Meanwhile, Choi Si-won shared a behind-the-scenes gem about his drunken singing scene — an unscripted moment born from 10 minutes of creative brainstorming.
"We ended up laughing for real on set," said Choi.
👏 It's Not Just Comedy — There's Heart Too
Beneath the laughs, 'Lobby' explores themes of power, ambition, and humanity — all without flashy action or special effects.
"We hope audiences laugh a lot… but also walk away realizing there are things in life we shouldn't overlook," Kim Eui-sung summed up.
