Kang Dong-won is ready to break out some serious moves — and laughs — in his latest role as the leader of a retro dance group.
On March 31, distributor Lotte Entertainment confirmed the cast lineup for upcoming film 'Wild Thing', revealing Kang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, Park Ji-hyun, and Oh Jung-se as the stars of the wild comedy.
🎤 Comeback story of a legendary co-ed dance trio
Wild Thing follows the journey of Triangle, a once-famous co-ed dance group from the early 2000s, who reunite 20 years later for a shot at redemption and a second chance on stage.
Kang Dong-won plays Hyun-woo, the charismatic leader and dance machine of Triangle. Once a national sensation, he's now working in low-key variety shows after the group disbanded — until the comeback call arrives.
🎙 A cast full of quirky charm
- Um Tae-goo takes on the role of Sang-goo, the group's rapper with questionable flow but unshakable passion.
- Park Ji-hyun stars as Domi, the group's center and main vocalist, ready to show off unexpected flair.
- Oh Jung-se plays Seong-gon, a tragic balladeer who was always runner-up to Triangle in his prime. Expect signature comedic timing from Oh.
The film is directed by Son Jae-gon, known for offbeat hits like My Scary Girl and Secret Zoo. Production is handled by the team behind Extreme Job, About Film.
🎬 The wild ride has begun
Wild Thing officially began filming on March 30. With its mix of comedy, nostalgia, and quirky characters, it's already generating buzz as one of the year's most anticipated comedies.
