A bittersweet love story set to warm hearts this fall
🧡 Suzy takes on a role of healing and heartbreak
Suzy and Lee Jin-wook have officially wrapped up filming for The Seven O'Clock Breakfast for the Heartbroken, a new romance drama based on the beloved novel of the same name. The film, directed by Lim Sun-ae, completed shooting last month after starting in December 2024.
Suzy stars as Sagang, a flight attendant who falls into a forbidden romance with a pilot named Jeong-su (played by Yoo Ji-tae). Suzy brings nuance and warmth to a character caught between love and pain.
"It was an honor to work with such a great team," she said. "The original novel really resonated with me, and it was a meaningful experience to bring it to life."
She added, "I hope the audience can find comfort and healing in this story—just like I did while playing Sagang."
💙 Lee Jin-wook brings depth to a quietly heartbroken lover
Lee Jin-wook plays Ji-hoon, a consultant who ends a long-term relationship with teacher Hyeon-jeong (played by Geum Sae-rok). His portrayal of quiet sorrow and internal conflict adds depth to the emotional layers of the film.
"I'm filled with gratitude and some lingering emotions," he shared. "This project gave me a kind of healing energy, and I hope the audience feels the same."
🎬 Director Lim Sun-ae promises an emotional payoff
Director Lim Sun-ae expressed her thanks to the cast and crew for completing the shoot smoothly.
"Thanks to everyone's dedication, we were able to complete filming. I'll continue to work hard through post-production to deliver a meaningful film," she said.
The Seven O'Clock Breakfast for the Heartbroken is expected to premiere in Korean theaters later this year.
