G-DRAGON is making K-pop history—his latest track is heading to outer space. In a groundbreaking move, he becomes the first Korean artist to beam both a song and music video into the cosmos.
🌌 "Home Sweet Home" Goes Interstellar
On April 9 at 8 PM KST, G-DRAGON's Home Sweet Home will be transmitted into space through the SETI Project Korea, a collaboration between KAIST Satellite Research Center and Galaxy Corporation.
This marks the first time in Korea that a music track and video are being broadcast beyond Earth. The music video, uniquely reimagined with AI technology, was developed using Microsoft's Azure Open AI.
🎶 Following The Beatles' Cosmic Footsteps
The project name "SETI" references NASA's iconic Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) program. G-DRAGON is now the first Korean participant, following the legendary The Beatles, who sent Across the Universe to the Polaris star system in 2008.
That signal traveled 431 light years into deep space, and now G-DRAGON's music joins the same legacy.
🤖 Fusing Art, AI, and Astronomy
A Galaxy Corporation rep commented:
"This isn't just a music release—it's an artistic experiment that blends space science, AI, and entertainment into a new frontier: Entertech."
They added:
"By sending music into space, we're preserving human culture beyond Earth. It's a powerful symbol of what K-culture and AI-driven creativity can achieve."
🧑🏫 G-DRAGON's Role at KAIST
Last year, G-DRAGON was appointed visiting professor at KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering. His term runs through June 2026, further cementing his commitment to tech and innovation in the arts.
