ADOR is stepping up to protect NewJeans from online abuse. The label is cracking down on malicious content and deepfake videos, promising zero tolerance and firm legal action.
🔍 Round-the-Clock Monitoring System Upgraded
On April 9, ADOR posted a legal update on its official social media, outlining their ongoing legal efforts to defend NewJeans from malicious online activity.
The company recently increased its monitoring team in response to a rise in defamatory content targeting the group—particularly after a recent court ruling regarding their exclusive contract.
ADOR stated, "We are collecting evidence of ongoing rights violations, including defamation regarding nationality or appearance, spreading false information, and privacy invasion."
⚖️ Criminal Complaints Filed, Deepfake Offender Arrested
Alongside takedown requests, ADOR is pursuing criminal complaints. Some individuals have already been reported to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, with additional actions pending.
In one severe case, an individual involved in creating and spreading deepfake content has been arrested and handed over to prosecutors while in custody. ADOR reiterated: "There will be no settlements or leniency under any circumstances."
The company added that they are continuing to prepare further legal responses to ensure that perpetrators face appropriate punishment.
📢 Fans Asked to Report Incidents via HYBE's Tip Line
ADOR encouraged fans to use HYBE's official "Artist Rights Violation Reporting Site" to report abusive content involving NewJeans. "We will continue to do our utmost to protect our artists," the company emphasized.
⚠️ Contract Dispute Still Ongoing
NewJeans and ADOR remain in the midst of a legal dispute. The group previously claimed contract termination, citing ADOR's alleged breach of agreement in November last year.
ADOR responded by filing for confirmation of contract validity at the Seoul Central District Court, along with a motion to prevent NewJeans from signing deals with other agencies.
The court ruled in favor of ADOR, temporarily recognizing the label's authority as NewJeans' management. However, the group has since filed an objection, and both sides submitted additional statements at a closed hearing on April 9.
