Singer Lee Chae-yeon is stepping into her first-ever leading role on public television—and it's for a meaningful cause.
👩🏫 'Let's Dance': A Youth Drama With Purpose
Lee Chae-yeon will star in the upcoming KBS-1TV educational drama Let's Dance, her very first lead role on a major network. The show is designed to promote understanding of disabilities among teenagers.
Originally launched in 2008, the series is co-produced by the Ministry of Education, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and the Disability Awareness Action Campaign. It airs every April to commemorate Korea's National Day of Persons with Disabilities.
🩰 A Story About Connection, Not Just Communication
Let's Dance follows the story of Cheong-ah (played by Lee Chae-yeon), a top student who's always been focused solely on grades—until she suddenly develops the ability to hear the inner thoughts of a deaf classmate, Ji-seok.
Together, they navigate friendship, understanding, and the barriers between spoken and unspoken worlds. The drama shines a light on cochlear implants and how we can support those with hearing impairments.
Other cast members include Ji-seok (played by Big Ocean's Ji-seok) and Woo-rim (played by WEi's Kim Dong-han).
💬 Lee Chae-yeon: "It's an Honor to Be Part of This"
Lee shared her thoughts on joining the project:
"I'm honored to be part of such a meaningful drama. I hope this show reminds people that small acts of care can lead to big changes."
