Hyojung is bringing warmth and hope to TV—this time as the MC of a heartfelt charity special for children with disabilities.
📺 'Miracle of Spring' airs April 18 at 6PM KST
In honor of Korea's Day of People with Disabilities, MBC and the Miral Welfare Foundation are co-producing a special broadcast titled Miracle of Spring, now in its 7th year. OH MY GIRL's Hyojung will serve as the MC, using her voice to spotlight the stories of children in urgent need of support.
🕊️ Subheading: "Let's not be too late"
The show highlights real-life stories of children from low-income families living with severe disabilities or rare diseases. One of them is 6-year-old Suyeon, born with congenital giant melanocytic nevus covering over 70% of her skin. It poses a high risk of turning into malignant cancer, but because the surgery is categorized as cosmetic, it's not covered by insurance or government aid.
💔 Stories that call for immediate support
- Cho-eun (9) suffers from two rare conditions—Shapiro Syndrome and Pierre Robin Syndrome. She relies on a feeding tube and an oxygen mask to survive and is in and out of the hospital due to uncontrolled fevers. Her single mother struggles to cover the cost of an essential hip surgery.
- Jun-seo (18) lives with an undiagnosed skin disorder that causes severe inflammation and skin peeling, making it impossible to walk. He's being raised by his elderly grandfather, who works as a daily laborer to support him. Jun-seo's story, first aired in 2023, returns as his condition still requires ongoing medical care.
🎤 Hyojung and Jang Min-ho lend their voices
Singer Jang Min-ho joins Hyojung in hosting. The pair made a heartfelt appeal: "Many children are struggling not only with illness and disability, but with the high cost of treatment. We ask everyone to step in before it's too late and help make a difference."
They added, "With your support, we hope these children can return to living happy, healthy lives."
