From Highlight to BEAST—K-pop legends are reclaiming their roots with a powerful new chapter.
🎤 Pre-release track drops today at 6PM KST
On April 16, Around Us Entertainment announced that BEAST will release their pre-release single "No Ending" from the upcoming 6th mini album From Real to Surreal at 6PM KST. This marks their first comeback under the name BEAST in 9 years, since rebranding as Highlight in 2017.
🧡 A comeback filled with memories and meaning
"This comeback is about reconnecting with fans who've been with us since the beginning," the agency said. "BEAST will once again create new memories, reviving the bond they've shared with fans for over a decade."
⚖️ What happened with the name?
BEAST originally debuted in 2009 under Cube Entertainment. After moving to a new agency in 2017, they were unable to keep the name due to a trademark dispute and began promoting as Highlight. The issue was finally resolved in 2023, and while the group continued using "Highlight" officially, the option to return as BEAST was now possible.
Around Us explained, "Many new fans discovered the group through their Highlight era, which is why we kept the name for official use. But moving forward, we'll also embrace the identity of BEAST."
🎶 'No Ending'—a cinematic goodbye
The new single compares a past relationship to the ending scene of a film, filled with regret and nostalgia. The group's signature emotional sound and haunting melodies promise a strong return to their musical identity as BEAST.
🕰️ From 'Rainy Days' to 'Ribbon'—the legacy continues
Debuting as BEAST in 2009, the group delivered timeless hits like Rainy Days, 12:30, Ribbon, and When I Miss You. Their ability to evolve while staying true to their roots is what keeps fans coming back—now with even more reason to celebrate.
📀 Full album drops April 28 at 6PM KST
Mark your calendars—From Real to Surreal drops later this month, and it's shaping up to be a comeback filled with nostalgia, evolution, and that unmistakable BEAST sound.
