Renowned composer Yoo Hee-yeol has officially returned to broadcasting after a three-year hiatus—and he's feeling all the emotions.
On April 18, Yoo appeared as a special DJ for Bae Chul-soo's Music Camp on MBC FM4U, filling in while Bae is on vacation until April 21.
🎙 "Feels Like I'm Standing in Front of a Mirror"
"It's been such a long time," Yoo began. "Sitting in a radio studio again feels like looking into a mirror. Let's begin Yoo Hee-yeol's Music Camp," he said, signaling a new chapter.
💬 Back After 3 Years
Marking his first official activity in three years, Yoo confessed,
"I'm so nervous—my head feels like it's going to explode. This may be the most nerve-racking moment of my life. I feel like my voice is trembling."
During his hiatus, Yoo stepped away from the entertainment industry entirely, following plagiarism allegations in 2022.
"Over time, I've developed the habit of carefully choosing every word I say," he admitted. "I've thought deeply about returning to this seat."
🙏 Gratitude and Apology
Yoo expressed appreciation to listeners and addressed any discomfort his return may bring:
"To those who've welcomed me, and even those who may feel uneasy—I sincerely thank you. I also want to apologize for this awkward greeting after so long."
🪞 A Raw and Honest Comeback
"Radio is like a mirror that reflects you at your rawest," he added. "Time may have left its marks, but maybe that makes things feel more real. I'll give it my best."
Yoo's return marks a tentative but heartfelt step back into the spotlight.
