📺 A Hit K-Drama Goes Global with Japanese Remake
'Marry My Husband', the smash-hit tvN revenge drama, is getting a Japanese remake.
CJ ENM announced on April 30, "The Japanese version of 'Marry My Husband' will premiere on Prime Video starting June 27."
🔁 Time-Loop Revenge Meets Japanese Adaptation
Originally aired in Korea, 'Marry My Husband' follows a woman who is murdered after witnessing her best friend's affair with her husband—only to be given a second chance at life and revenge through time travel.
The series was a domestic and international sensation, ranking No.1 in average ratings among all tvN Monday–Tuesday dramas and even topping Prime Video's global daily TV show chart—becoming the first Korean drama to do so.
🇯🇵 10-Episode Japanese Version with Star-Studded Cast
The Japanese adaptation will consist of 10 episodes and isn't a direct remake but a localized reimagining based on the original web novel. The storyline has been tailored to suit Japanese sensibilities.
While the original version starred Park Min-young and Na In-woo, the Japanese version will feature Fuka Koshiba and Takeru Satoh in the lead roles. Other cast members include Sei Shiraishi and Yu Yokoyama.
🎬 Star Power Behind the Scenes
The project will be directed by Ahn Gil-ho, known for 'The Glory' and 'Stranger'. The script will be written by Satomi Oshima, famous for penning '1 Litre of Tears'.
A CJ ENM representative said, "K-dramas have earned global recognition for their production value. Through this collaboration, we hope to create new momentum in the international drama scene."
