Rising K-pop boy group TWS is making solid waves in Japan. Their latest mini-album TRY WITH US has been officially certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
🥇 Another Gold—2 in a row for TWS
On May 13, RIAJ confirmed that TRY WITH US surpassed 100,000 units shipped in April, qualifying it for Gold Disc certification.
RIAJ awards Gold (100K), Platinum (250K), and Double Platinum (500K) based on cumulative shipment volume each month. This marks TWS's second consecutive Gold certification, following their debut single Last Bell.
💫 A pre-debut success ahead of Japan launch
TWS hasn't even officially debuted in Japan yet—set for July 2—but their growing fanbase already speaks volumes. The latest Gold certification proves their expanding popularity in the region.
Their third mini-album centers on themes of youthful courage and first-time challenges. The title track, "Isn't it cool to follow your heart?", radiates the bright, vibrant energy of turning 20.
📈 Chart performance: Oricon + Billboard Japan + 6 trophies in Korea
TRY WITH US ranked:
- #2 on Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking
- #2 on Oricon's Weekly Combined Album Ranking (as of May 5)
- #5 on Billboard Japan's Hot Albums (as of April 30)
Back home in Korea, the album swept six music show wins, signaling their strong domestic impact as well.
🇯🇵 Official Japan debut coming July 2
TWS will release their Japan debut single "Nice to see you again" (Japanese title: はじめまして) this summer. The album includes three tracks, featuring an original Japanese song that captures the sparkle and thrill of summer memories, paired with the group's refreshing charm.
