ILLIT is making history once again—this time by becoming the first K-pop girl group to perform at one of Japan's biggest music festivals.
🎸 ILLIT Joins 'Rock in Japan Festival 2025' Lineup
On May 14, Belift Lab announced that ILLIT will take the stage at the Rock in Japan Festival 2025, set to take place at Soga Sports Park in Chiba City from September 13–15 and 20–21. ILLIT will perform on September 14, day two of the event.
This festival is considered one of Japan's "Big Four" music festivals. Last year alone, it drew over 275,000 attendees—and 2025 marks its 26th anniversary.
🌟 ILLIT Becomes the First K-pop Girl Group to Perform
ILLIT follows in the footsteps of acts like CNBLUE (2013) and ENHYPEN (2024)—but they're the first-ever female K-pop group to be invited to the main stage. Another huge milestone for the rookie sensation.
🎶 ILLIT's Meteoric Rise in Japan
Since debuting with Magnetic, ILLIT has swept up major Japanese awards, including trophies at the 66th Japan Record Awards and 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards. They've also appeared on top-tier shows like Kōhaku Uta Gassen and FNS Music Festival.
Earlier this year, their bubbly track Almond Chocolate was selected as the theme song for the Japanese film I Don't Like You Just Because You're Good-Looking, further boosting their mainstream appeal.
🎤 What's Next: 'Glitter Day' Fan Concert + Japan Tour
Before hitting the festival stage, ILLIT will hold their first fan concert 'Glitter Day' on June 7–8 at Olympic Park in Seoul. Afterward, they'll head to Japan for fan events in Kanagawa and Osaka to meet their growing Japanese fanbase.
